Goal of investigation: To confirm a possible haunting for the homeowner.

Equipment:  emf meter, temp gauge, dowsing tools, digital still cameras, digital video camera, digital audio recorder

Year built: undetermined.  Architecture suggests late 1800’s to early 1900’s.

Notable history: 

Homeowner had a few different experiences that she couldn’t explain.  When her 14 month old was only a couple of months old, there were 2 times when she found the gate on his crib lowered even though she was sure she had left it up.  She had frequently heard footstep upstairs, especially in the hallway when she was alone in the house.  One time, the doors to her closet opened itself in front of here even though it had been latched.  Another time, she and her children saw from outside the house, a shadow moving around in the house as they were returning form visiting her brother.  Her brother came over to look for intruders but found no one.

8:10 pm           
Deron and Lori reported that the batteries had drained out of their camera and video camera within minutes of entering the home.  Nellie’s watch stopped, but had also been mysteriously fast-forwarded to 9:20, even though she is sure that it had been showing the correct time earlier in the evening

 

8:40pm
Cold spots were felt in the main bedroom by Deron & Nellie.  Lori & Christi also reported major colds spots of 44 degrees in the girl’s bedroom, even though the temperature at the window was 5 degrees warmer

 

9:30 pm           
Christie captured some mist in three photographs taken of the storage closet in the back of the upstairs

 

EVP Notes:

Evp 1 – Deron asks the ghost to knock for us, which is followed by 2 knocks on the recording.  No knocks had been heard at the time.  This was picked up on 2 separate recording devices but not on a third.

Evp 2 – Deron asks “Would you like us to leave?”

Evp 3 – Nellie asks “Are you comfortable with having us visit you like this?”  This was picked up on 2 separate recording devices.

Evp 4 – Nellie asks “Do you think you would let me take your picture”

Evp 5 – Nellie asks “Are you happy that someone is trying to communicate with you?”

Evp 6 – Deron asks “Why won’t you manifest yourself?”

Evp 7 – Nellie asks “Do you mind if I take a picture of you?” followed by “go ahead”.

Evp 8 – A voice whispers “Zack.”

Evp 9 – A voice whispers in between a conversation between Lori and Christi

General notes: 
Wes picked up high emf readings near the dresser drawer in the main bedroom, but later determined it to be caused by power lines running up the outside wall.  Lori and Nellie both picked up on a grandmotherly presence that loved the children in the house.  While in the basement, Deron picked up on the name “Mary” and Nellie picked up on “Oliver.”  Nellie also picked up on the year 1912 in the main bedroom.  When questioned later, the home owner said that one of the previous owners was a lady who lived to be about 78 years old and who lived there most of her life.   She also said that her own mother had died several years before.  Their names were Dorothy and Jane, respectively.
